West Grand Marsh Resiliency Study

The West Grand Marsh Resiliency Study was developed for the Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine by Wright-Pierce. Funding for this study was provided through the State of Maine’s Community Resiliency Partnership grant which was awarded to the Town in the Spring of 2024. Input from the Town of Old Orchard Beach and the Old Orchard Beach Conservation Commission was provided throughout the development of this study.

Links to the Draft Final Report and PowerPoint presentation are below. This report is still in draft form as Wright-Pierce is waiting on the results of the vegetation assessment and will be adding that to the report and doing a final quality assurance/control review.

DRAFT Final Study

PowerPoint Presentation

The Town will be developing a plan for continued data logger monitoring, marsh maintenance, tide gate monitoring, and capital projects that effect the marsh with assistance from Wright-Pierce, and various Town Departments and Town Committees. This plan is the first step in that process.
