In the summer months with our dramatic population increase we have a fully certified lifeguard staff.  The Lifeguards start to get together on Memorial Day and work to patrol our 4 miles of beach till Labor Day.  They train every morning during the summer and are on the beach from 9am till 5pm.  With 12 towers placed along the beach they perform on average 45 to 50 water rescues in a season.

Call Force Division:

We have a staff of Call Force members who augment our full and part time staff.  They perform a variety of functions such as firefighting, driving the ambulance when needed, and fire police.  They are a vital part of our department.  We are always looking for good members to our Call Force.  If you are over 18, have a clean driving record, have a drivers license and can pass a physical and a physical agility test we need you.  You must live in Old Orchard Beach and attend monthly training and meetings.  Please contact the Fire Station for more information.
