As one of the agency’s Special Response Teams, CERT
functions to prepare our community for disasters,
respond to incidents, and assist with recovery. The
team is trained to help others following emergencies
until professional responders arrive and to assist the
efforts of responders by providing basic first aid and
assisting with tasks such as traffic control and
emergency communications. CERT volunteers also
organize and participate in preparedness education
and outreach initiatives, such as training, tabling
events, and more!
