Parking Permit Notice

Parking meters and permits start May 1st and end September 30th.

  • Have you always wanted to purchase a parking permit for your motorcycle?
  • Do you know of someone visiting Old Orchard Beach for a week and no place to park, or more vehicles than parking on site allows?  Check out the Temporary Parking Permit.
  • Always wanted to buy a parking permit, but couldn’t make it to the Town Hall to purchase one?

The Town of Old Orchard Beach is pleased to announce the implementation of enhanced technology that provides residents and non-residents with a convenient and efficient way to purchase summer parking passes online!  The Town has partnered with Passport, Inc. to provide this new online parking software.

The hangtags you have been issued in the past will no longer be used.  The police department has a scanner that will scan each license plate to ensure the vehicle has paid their fee for parking or has been issued a parking permit from the Town Clerk’s Office.  Although the residential and non-residential permits allow two vehicle license plate numbers per permit, only one vehicle can be parked in the permitted areas at a time.  Temporary parking permits are limited to one license plate, but the license plate number can be changed online by the purchaser.

This new software is a license plate-based program and can be purchased for passenger cars and motorcycles.

Residential permits are limited to two per household.  These permits do not allow overnight parking. Two license plate numbers are allowed per permit and the owner of the permit has authorization to change the license plate numbers online.

Purchasing a permit does not guarantee an available parking spot.

$50 Residential Permits:  allow for parking in the Milliken Street Municipal parking lot, Memorial Park Municipal parking lot, and the front and back of Town Hall (after business hours and on weekends).  To qualify, you need to either, 1) pay real estate tax on your property and live in it at least during the summer or, 2) be a renter (must have car/motorcycle registered in Old Orchard Beach).

$75 Residential Permits:  allow for parking in the Milliken Street municipal parking lot, Memorial Park municipal parking lot, the front and back of Town Hall after business hours, two-hour parking on Old Orchard Street and four-hour parking at all other meters/paystations. To qualify, you must live year-round in Old Orchard Beach.  Your driver’s license and vehicle registration must show your Old Orchard Beach physical address.

Non-Resident Permits (any person may purchase—permits are unlimited)

$150 non-resident parking permit:  allows for parking in the Milliken Street parking lot only, no overnight parking.

$300 non-resident parking permit:  allows for parking in the Milliken Street parking lot only, does allow overnight parking.

NEW $50 TEMPORARY PERMIT :  allows any person to purchase an unlimited amount of permits.  The restriction requires that only one license plate number be allowed per permit and is for parking in the Milliken Street Parking lot only.  The permit covers seven consecutive days and includes overnight parking.  You will need the vehicle year, make and model, and your driver’s license number and State.  Once purchased, the license plate can be changed online by the purchaser.

Permits can be purchased as follows:
