OOB Intersection Safety & Mobility Assessment
Public Informational Zoom Meeting #2
Thursday, June 17th, 2021 @ 6:30pm
A public informational Zoom meeting was held on June 17th, hosted in collaboration with Gorrill-Palmer to present intersection alternatives from the recent study of the Halfway Intersection in Old Orchard Beach (the intersecting roads of Old Salt Rd, Ocean Park Rd, Old Orchard Beach Rd, Temple Ave, & Saco Ave.) This project is a collaborative effort with the State of Maine Dept. of Transportation. This study began last summer in July 2020. The scope of work included the evaluation of safety and mobility improvements for all transportation modes at this busy intersection. This study was previously conducted in 2005 as a rotary improvement, but at the time it was not pursued. This time the purpose of the assessment was to identify a range of implementable alternatives to improve the intersection safety and mobility for all modes of transportation (vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle) now and for the future.
Public Comments accepted through July 9th. Please email them to Mike Foster at firstname.lastname@example.org
