ASSISTANT TOWN MANAGER
V. Louise Reid
The Old Orchard Beach Town Council established and appointed V. Louise Reid to the new position of Assistant Town Manager as of December 1, 2003.
She previously served as the Executive Assistant to former Mayor William Johnson and City Administrator Rick Michaud of Saco from April 2002 to December 2003; supervised the building of The Old Orchard Beach Salvation Army’s 1,435 seat Pavilion Amphitheater and as its Director from 1997 to 2002; for twenty-four years held the position of Manager of Shareowner Relations and Executive Assistant to the Board of Directors for Hartford, Connecticut-based United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a multi-national Fortune 500 company; and for 17 years served as a Salvation Army Officer in administrative positions in Old Orchard Beach, New York City including , Harlem, Bedford Stuyvesant and the Bronx, Boston, Massachusetts and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She has previously served as a member of the Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce; Vice President for three years, as well as a member of the Executive Committee; a member of The Salvation Army Advisory Board; a former member of the Saco Bay Rotary Club from 1998 to 2002; member and Secretary to the Junior Achievement Board of Directors; member of the Community Watch Council; and serves as a member of the Biddeford Saco Old Orchard Beach Transit Committee. She attended the University of Connecticut where she majored in business and is a Graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in vocal and choral direction. Her hobbies include reading, creative writing, voice and piano.
She served as Acting Town Manager from January 2008 to April 2008.
